PLASTICUS MARITIMUS
When Ana was a kid, she used to play on the beach, rather than in her backyard. She would take long walks on the sand, observing tides, collecting fossils and enjoying nature. But gradually she started to notice that a new invading species was becoming more and more common on the shores: plastic. To help warning people for its effects on life in our planet, Ana became a marine biologist and decided to start collecting plastics. She even gave a name to this new species: Plasticus maritimus. Ever since, she never gave it any rest and started a project to raise awareness of this issue and promote a more conscious use of plastics. Based on Ana’s project, Plasticus Maritimus book holds information on the relationship between plastic and the oceans. It also includes a practical guide for collecting and analysing samples of this species on the beach. The main goal: inspiring change! Now it’s time we do something about it.

SISTERS BY SOPHIE-HARRIS TAYLOR
We love Sisters by Sophie Harris-Taylor, a book published by Hoxton Mini Press that is a celebration of sisterhood, in all its glory and with all its flaws. Sophie spent two years photographing and interviewing more than 100 sisters in an effort to better understand this most intimate of bonds. Her tender portraits combined with short interviews reveal the jealousies, fears, love and laughter that co-exist at the heart of each relationship. Don’t you think that these photos are amazing?

We literally love Constantine by Bisame: from birth to adulthood, this piece of furniture accompanies parents and their child and maintains their special bond through small moments of daily complicity.
MUES DESIGN
Launched in 2014, MUES Design is a business run by two sisters both eager to share and express their ideas about interior design. They conceive interior design as an incredible playground where switching from a classic to a kitsch look, from a retro to a contemporary style is not a miscue but an interesting mismatch.
They create wallpapers in their Parisian studio: the depth of their designs comes from a work they do first by hand like water coloring, sketching, drawing…
Have fun looking at these motifs!
ONNI
Onni Design products are based on Scandinavian design tradition, they are designed and manufactured in Finland. The main material used is Finnish solid birch and birch plywood. Their high chair is a classic that your child wants to take with him, and the children's stool is a versatile product that is made into a flower table when there is no longer a suitable seating position. We love these wooden pieces!
ZEEPLOKAAL
The Zeeplokaal originated from the love for pure ingredients without fuss. Owner Thijske had for some time been using less plastic, reusing more and buying second-hand, but was not really aware of what is in an average shampoo or shower gel. Every soap by Zeeplokaal is made to be wonderfully caring and good for mother nature. Every soap is plant-based and therefore 100% vegan friendly! Their soap is free from sulphates such as SLS and SLES. Pure nature it is. They have eight types of soap in their range: including soap with black activated carbon, a scrub soap with poppy seeds, soap for household and two hair soaps. Amazing!

SUSAN BIJL
In the year 2000, Susan Bijl set out to create a bag. As a student of Rotterdam’s Willem de Kooning Academy, she wanted to design one that would render all others obsolete. That bag is The New Shopping Bag. Born partly from the idea of reducing the waste involved with the production of plastic bags; and partly from the ‘less is more’ Dutch design philosophy. The New Shopping Bag was based on the silhouette of a generic plastic bag, Susan gave it her own spin by creating a colourful variation, crafted from Ripstop nylon. The same fabric kites are made of, Ripstop is both indestructible and lightweight. The only thing lacking was a signature. After many sketches and prototypes, Susan created the iconic ‘Flash’ – a diagonal stripe that has appeared on every product she’s designed. Discover it together with other Susan Bijl new products like The New Pouch, The New Backpack, The New Bum Bag and The New Raincoat.
