A SHORT INTERVIEW WITH MICHAEL DRIVER

I AM...
Michael Driver, I’m a Brighton based freelance Illustrator and Print maker.

I DO...
I have been working within the creative industry for the last ten years, in the last decade I have worked on lots of projects in animation, publishing, advertising and editorial for clients including Apple, Amazon,The Guardian, Penguin and Transport for London.

CHILDHOOD TO ME IS...
Rebellious, it is wearing your shoes on the wrong feet, dancing when nobody else will, singing even when you shouldn’t and eating too many Pickled onions that you are sick (I have done this). The best thing about being a child is never really caring what other people think of you, I very much miss those days.

IMAGINATION TO ME IS...
Resourceful, it is a rock that is a rare crystal, a hose pipe that turns into a snake or a stick that doubles up as a sword. Some of my fondest memories as a child were with my brothers in the woods building dens, fighting dragons and eating jam sandwiches.

MY FAVOURITE OBJECT IS...
(this is very hard as I hoard so much stuff) the bird whistle made by Russian toy company Kook toys.

MY FAVOURITE COLOUR IS...
Light pink.

MY FAVOURITE 3 IG PROFILES ARE...
@sunday.nobody.art (really great artist, works on incredibly high effort art projects)
@mschf (a very cool LA based arts collective that straddle fine art and street culture)
@kidsuper ( Colm Dillane is a Brooklyn based artist and street wear designer, his documentary ‘Riding the Bull’ is incredible)
