0–99. DESIGN FOR PLAY @ PALAZZO ARESE BORROMEO

Palazzo Arese Borromeo in Cesano Maderno hosts 0–99. Design per gioco, an exhibition on the cultural and design value of board games, on view from April 10 to May 10, 2026.
From ancient games like the Royal Game of Ur, Go, and Chess to modern classics such as Monopoly, Cluedo, and Risiko (here in a playable oversized version), the show traces how games reflect identities, rules, and social interaction.
Curated by Cristian Confalonieri and Alessia Interlandi, and based on the Atlante dei giochi da tavolo, the exhibition also explores game design through figures like Alex Randolph and contemporary projects such as Contemporary Chess and the AI-based memorIA.
An interactive Ludoteca invites visitors to play, reinforcing the idea of games as shared cultural experiences - all set within the historic 17th-century Palazzo Arese Borromeo.
