I QUADERNINI DI MILANO, from November 26th to December 9th, 9am - 5pm, free entrance,  SPAZIO EX FORNACE, Alzaia Naviglio Pavese 16, Milan.

How many things an old school notebook can tell you? Many! The notebooks, infact, can contain fragments of the lives of their young authors, and are important documents, not only to learn about the past and the history of education, but also to understand the psychology of the children who filled the pages. For the first time the cultural association Quaderni Aperti shows part of the collection that counts over 600 books dating from the the nineteenth century till today, from all over Italy, especially from Milan.
Some of the notebooks exhibited have been (almost) fully reproduced from the paper mill Arbos, others can be consulted digitally navigating among the 1000 images of the digital collection of Quaderni Aperti.  I quadernini di Milano is not just an exhibition: in the two weeks of exposure will be made readings, workshops for schools, meetings and also an "exhibition inside the exhibition". For example the cradle CUNA can be transformed over the time into a bed, giving the kid independence to get on and off preventing falls that may occur. 
glöw's products are made in Argentina, ensuring fair work conditions for all those involved in their realization. The design is simple and clean, and use fine materials with excellent quality.

Broot is a nice design brand from Argentina.
Very fond on beautiful details, but also to functionality, Broot creates easy, funny, practical and super nice objects. The design is so pure that can fit any kind of house's environment.

CARtools

CARtools, designed by Floris Hoover for Magis Me Too is composed by 26 beech wood blocks painted with non-toxic paintings. The simplicity of the blocks recall those classic buildings with a linear appearance. The idea of the designer is to bring out the simplicity of the vehicles and in the same time to give more space to imagination and individuality. Changing, moving or shifting the various blocks you can create new combinations and images. These blocks become a tool of design, thought for children, but perfectly suitable even for adults!

ENCORE!

The universe encore! is composed by wooden toys made of solid beech from European forests eco managed (FSC) painted with water varnishes and organic cotton rabbits sewn and embroidered by hand by a reintegration workshop. 
In this "quartier lapin" all people are friends and kids have lots of fun while learning the principles of ecology. The écoquartier, infact, is an imitative play. Children imitate behaviors, appropriate them, integrate them and of course have fun their own way. Later they naturally apply the principles of ecology in everyday life: we are growing today the children that will live our planet tomorrow.

PONCHI PONCHI is the name of a game that Luciana, the designer of the brand, used to play at the swimming pool with her dad and sister. PONCHI PONCHI are innovative, colorful, safe, light and washable toys. They can be carried anywhere and allow to increase creativity!
They are conceived on the assumption that the best game is the representation, where children take an active role and create scenes, amusing themselves and also building new experiences!

MJUKA

MJUKA is a young design studio based in Hamburg. It was founded by the two furniture designers Annika Steven and Franziska Cadmus. 
Their work is influenced by scandinavian design and they work mostly with wood and fabric. The value of the furniture is in the focus of their work, so the awareness of the materials and how they are produced is important.
KUBB-SPIEL is a typical swedish outdoor game, and ICE LAMPS are amazing lamps that create a a nice mood lighting.

LET'S DRAW WAVES!

Drawing Waves,  South African–born, German-based artist Robin Rhode. From July 17, 2015 to August 30, 2015, The Drawing Center, New York

“Before the exhibition opens Rhode partnered with a group of children aged 8-10 years to create this large-scale mural of the high seas, which will be video recorded and on view. He has begun the process by attaching vinyl cutouts of seventeenth century mercantile ships to the gallery wall, and then the children freely have drawn the surrounding body of water using giant, custom-made oil crayons. The nautical motif is largely inspired by the East India Company fleet, who were the first colonialists in Southern Africa—a nod to Rhode’s own childhood and the indignities he faced growing up in a post-apartheid South Africa. Yet as a participatory artwork, Rhode offers a more hopeful message by bringing urban youth culture to the fore and demonstrating the power of pure imagination”.
