What makes a place feel like home? For multidisciplinary artist India Thompson, the answer lies in the everyday objects that surround us and the memories we attach to them.
In her project Looks Like Home, Thompson transforms familiar household objects — from refrigerators and microwaves to bathroom essentials — into intricate sculptures made from woven reed, using traditional basketry techniques.
With a playful yet thoughtful approach, she invites us to look at ordinary things differently, exploring themes of belonging, memory, ownership and the emotional meaning of home.
Through an extraordinary combination of craftsmanship, humour and contemporary art, Looks Like Home reminds us that home is not simply a place, but a collection of objects, stories and feelings.
